Paducah Mayor Paxton is in the process of having Paducah's law conform to Kentucky Law. On the surface this sounds good. However, he intends to use his position with the League of Cities to have premption, KRS 65.870, repealed or changed in order to allow every town to make their own gun laws instead of having one set of laws for all Kentucky.

KRS 65.870 reads as follows:

KRS 65.870   Local firearms control ordinances prohibited.
No  city,  county  or  urban-county  government  may  occupy  any  part  of  the  field  of
regulation  of  the transfer, ownership, possession, carrying or transportation of firearms,
ammunition, or components of firearms or combination thereof.
Effective: July 13, 1984
History:   Created 1984 Ky. Acts ch. 42, sec. 1, effective July 13, 1984.

We cannot allow this to happen. Begin getting ready for this attack on our rights now!

HB 313 has passed and as you can see on the bottom has been sent to the Governor. This will enable citizens to have their firearms in their vehicle in either the glovebox or center console. Adrienne Gilbert and Charles Zoeller did a good job testifying for this bill.

Florida State Senator pushes for Open Carry in Florida in spite of what happened in Arizona. I first met Greg Evers when he was in the House and he was a very good Representative then.
